12 Killed, 76 Injured in US Strikes on Iran

At least 12 people have been killed and 76 others injured in US strikes on several areas of southern Iran, Iranian state and state-affiliated media reported on Wednesday, citing Iranian officials

The highest number of civilian casualties was reported in Kuhestak, a coastal area of Sirik County in Hormozgan province, where a wedding ceremony was reportedly hit.

Fars News, citing the Iranian Red Crescent, reported that five people were killed and 68 others injured in the strike. Several children were reportedly among those wounded.

Meanwhile, officials in the southwestern province of Khuzestan said seven people were killed and eight others injured in US missile strikes on three locations in Ahvaz and Aghajari.

Iranian media also reported US strikes in and around Bandar Abbas, Qeshm, Jask, Chabahar and Konarak. However, complete information on casualties and damage from those attacks was not immediately available.

The death toll and number of injuries could rise as rescue teams continue to assess the damage and search affected areas.
