Iran has executed two individuals accused of spying for Mossad, in a development that underscores heightened security tensions in the region.
According to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, the executions were carried out early Monday (April 20).
Authorities claim the accused received specialized training from Mossad to identify sensitive installations and manufacture explosives. They were also found guilty of setting fire to military and government facilities, capturing videos of the incidents, and sending them to Mossad.
In return, they reportedly received payments through cryptocurrency.
The report further states that the individuals had recently been assigned new missions targeting two government offices and military centers in Tehran. Iranian intelligence agencies had been closely monitoring their network, which ultimately led to their arrest and execution.
