At least six people have died in Florida as a result of Hurricane Isaias, Governor Ron DeSantis said Tuesday.

According to the governor, two of the deaths had been reported earlier. One victim died after a tree fell on their home, while another died from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a generator running inside a garage.

The four newly confirmed deaths included a fatal road accident caused by malfunctioning traffic signals during the storm. Two other people died after the hurricane disrupted access to medical care.

The hurricane struck Florida early Saturday, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without electricity across Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

Meanwhile, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey said two people had also died in her state as a result of the storm.
