Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the media company owned by U.S. President Donald Trump, reported a net loss of $238 million in the second quarter of 2026, covering April through June.

The company generated just $1.7 million in revenue during the quarter, according to a filing submitted Monday, August 10, to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The report was also cited by Al Jazeera.

According to the filing, a large portion of the loss came from an unrealized loss of $190.4 million on digital assets, collateral related to digital assets and equity securities.

The company also recorded $11.7 million in unpaid interest added to loan principal and $8.1 million in stock-based compensation expenses.

Despite the heavy losses, TMTG’s revenue in the second quarter increased by 89 percent compared with the same period last year. However, the company’s losses remained far greater than its total revenue.

SEC filings show that almost all of TMTG’s revenue came from its media operations. Advertising generated approximately $1.43 million, while subscription revenue totaled about $179,500 during the quarter.

For the first six months of 2026, TMTG reported a total net loss of $644 million, compared with just $2.5 million in revenue.

TMTG’s shares trade on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol DJT. The company’s stock price fell about 8 percent by the end of Monday’s trading session.

TMTG operates the social media platform Truth Social, the video streaming service Truth+, and the financial technology brand Truth.Fi. Over the past year, the company has expanded into several new areas, including cryptocurrency-related businesses.

On August 1, the company also entered the market for subscription-based financial data services through Truth.Fi’s Truth API.

The Truth API gives investors rapid access to posts published on Truth Social. Trump regularly uses the platform to comment on issues such as tariffs, Iran and other policies that can potentially influence financial markets.

During an earnings call on Monday, TMTG interim CEO Kevin McGurn said that 10 companies have already signed up for the Truth API service. Each company is paying between $60,000 and $100,000 per month, he said.

Despite the potential market impact of Trump’s posts, Truth Social has continued to lag behind major social media platforms such as X and Facebook in terms of user numbers since its launch in 2022.

The New York Times reported Monday, citing data from online tracking firm Similarweb, that the number of visitors to Truth Social fell by more than one-third in July compared with the same month last year.
