28 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have died so far

A total of 28 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia so far while performing Hajj this year.

Among the deceased are 19 men and 9 women. Of them, 19 passed away in Makkah and 9 in Madinah.

The information was confirmed on Monday (25 May) by Airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, and the Bangladesh Hajj Office.

According to the data, a total of 79,164 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims and management personnel have so far arrived in Saudi Arabia this year. Among them, 4,464 traveled under the government scheme, while 73,926 went under private arrangements.

In addition, 774 people, including Hajj agency representatives, Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB) representatives, and management team members, are also part of the pilgrimage operation.

A total of 201 flights have been operated to transport Hajj pilgrims. Among these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines operated 98 flights, Saudi Airlines operated 73, and Flynas operated 30 flights.

Of the pilgrims transported, 38,702 traveled on Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 27,340 on Saudi Airlines, and 12,157 on Flynas.
