3-Year-Old Boy Killed by Gunshot from Father’s Firearm in Florida

A three-year-old boy has died after being shot with his father’s gun in Florida, United States. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 22, in the parking area of a Burger King restaurant in Bartow.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said the father had taken his son to buy food. When a problem arose with his credit card during payment, he attempted to resolve the issue. At that point, he removed the gun from his waist and placed it inside the vehicle.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the child picked up the gun inside the vehicle and accidentally fired it. The bullet struck him in the face. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead at around 7:30 p.m. local time.

The sheriff described the incident as a tragic accident. The office of the relevant state attorney will decide whether criminal charges will be filed against the child’s father.
