Israel has launched a new wave of airstrikes and artillery attacks across several areas in southern Lebanon, further escalating tensions along the border.

According to local sources, airstrikes targeted the towns of Qalaouiyeh, Al-Qatrani, Byblos, Rihan and Deir Kifa. Israeli forces also carried out overnight artillery shelling in the areas of Barashit and Chakra, raising fresh concerns over the deteriorating security situation in the region.

The latest attacks come amid a week of intensified Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had struck approximately 150 Hezbollah-linked sites during the past several days.

According to the IDF, the targets included weapons depots, command centers, rocket-launching positions and other military infrastructure allegedly used by Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacks targeting Israeli troops stationed in southern Lebanon as well as an Israeli artillery position near the border.

At the same time, warning sirens were activated in several areas of northern Israel amid concerns over potential drone incursions.

The IDF also reported that a Hezbollah drone struck near an Israeli military position in southern Lebanon on Saturday night.

The continued exchange of attacks has heightened tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, raising fears of a broader escalation in the region.
