Iran Claims Missile Strike on U.S. Base in Jordan, Says Three F-35 Jets Destroyed

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Thursday that it launched a ballistic missile strike targeting the U.S.-operated Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, alleging that three American F-35 fighter jets were destroyed and three others were severely damaged.

According to Iran’s state-affiliated Fars News Agency, the attack was carried out in retaliation for a recent U.S. strike on Iran’s Qeshm Island, which Tehran says killed a family, including two parents and a child.

In a statement, the IRGC said the missiles targeted a runway and a maintenance hangar at the air base. It also claimed that several U.S. military personnel, including officers and members of the base’s technical and maintenance teams, were killed in the attack.

The IRGC described the strike as part of its campaign against the U.S. military presence in the region and vowed to continue its operations.

The claims made by Iran have not been independently verified. There was no immediate comment from the United States or Jordan regarding the reported attack or the alleged damage.
