Former Biden aide says Kamala Harris unlikely to win 2028 presidential race

Former Vice President Kamala Harris would have little chance of winning the 2028 U.S. presidential election if she decides to run again, according to Michael LaRosa, former press secretary to First Lady Jill Biden.

Speaking on Fox News’ America Reports, LaRosa said he does not believe American voters would give Harris another opportunity to compete for the White House. He argued that despite her decades of political experience, Harris has yet to demonstrate the kind of decisive leadership voters are looking for and often avoids giving clear answers on major issues.

LaRosa’s comments came in response to a recent New York Magazine report that identified Harris as one of the Democratic Party’s leading contenders for the 2028 presidential nomination. He disagreed with that assessment, saying the party needs a candidate who is willing to lead boldly rather than make overly cautious political calculations.

Instead, LaRosa pointed to former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as potential Democratic candidates capable of leading the party in 2028.

Newsom has not officially announced whether he will seek the Democratic nomination, saying previously that any decision would be made after discussions with his family.

Harris’ office did not immediately respond to LaRosa’s remarks.
