The announcement of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran by U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked discontent among Israel’s right-wing political circles. Several right-leaning media outlets known for their close ties to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have begun criticizing Trump over the move.

According to analysts, the issue has exposed a growing divergence between Washington and Tel Aviv’s positions on Iran. If the proposed agreement takes effect, Israel’s military operations in Lebanon could face significant restrictions. The country may even be compelled to suspend attacks or withdraw troops from parts of Lebanon.

The development has raised concerns among Israeli hardliners, who argue that the agreement would be viewed as a political victory for Iran. In their view, such an outcome could amount to a “strategic defeat” for Israel.

Until recently, Trump enjoyed strong popularity in Israel. However, his efforts to reach a peace agreement with Iran have prompted criticism from sections of the country’s right-wing camp, marking a notable shift in attitudes toward the U.S. president.
