Flight operations at Kuwait International Airport have been temporarily suspended amid escalating military tensions in the Middle East, according to the country’s national carrier, Kuwait Airways.
According to Türkiye’s Anadolu Agency, citing Kuwait’s state news agency KUNA, the temporary suspension of takeoffs and landings was announced on Saturday (July 18) due to the prevailing security situation. As a result, Kuwait Airways has rescheduled most of its scheduled flights.
The airline has advised passengers to regularly check the latest status of their flights before traveling.
The report said security measures have been strengthened across Kuwait amid the ongoing military tensions between the United States and Iran. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, particularly as the country hosts key U.S. military installations.
Airport authorities have not yet announced when normal flight operations will resume.
