Hundreds of Palestinian children took part in a symbolic marathon in the besieged Gaza Strip to draw international attention to the plight of children who have lost their parents during the ongoing war.
The event was organized by the humanitarian organization International Networking for Humanitarian as a tribute to the growing number of children orphaned by the conflict.
According to the organizers, the war has left many children without parents or legal guardians, forcing them to endure severe hardship amid an escalating humanitarian crisis. They said the marathon aimed to highlight the suffering of these orphaned children and bring their situation to the attention of the international community.
During the event, participating children and organizers called on local authorities and the international community to take stronger measures to protect orphaned children in Gaza and to ensure the delivery of urgent humanitarian assistance.
The symbolic race also served as a message of solidarity with children affected by the conflict, emphasizing the need for greater global awareness and support for Gaza’s most vulnerable.
