The Israeli military has stated that it has identified thousands of potential targets inside Iran and continues to monitor them closely.
Although Tehran has warned neighboring countries against getting involved in the regional conflict, Israel has shown no sign of scaling back its military operations.
Israeli military spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said on Sunday (March 15) that the joint operations between the United States and Israel have now entered their third week. He added that new targets are being identified daily. According to him, there is a specific operational plan in place for the next three weeks, up to the Jewish festival of Passover, with further strategic planning already prepared for the period beyond.
Meanwhile, amid warnings from Iran, reports have emerged of a drone attack on a U.S. and Italian military base in Kuwait. Tehran claims it has sufficient evidence that U.S. military installations in neighboring countries are being used as launch points for airstrikes against Iran.
In response, Iran has continued to threaten the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important maritime routes. The growing maritime tensions were discussed on Sunday between U.S. President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
To address the escalating situation, Trump has called for the formation of an international coalition to ensure the security of the Strait of Hormuz. On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during a phone conversation with his French counterpart, urged other countries to refrain from actions that could further escalate the conflict or expand the scope of war.
Overall, the Middle East now stands at a critical juncture, where diplomatic efforts and military preparations are advancing side by side.
