Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed, accusing the United States of violating the terms of a ceasefire.
According to the IRGC, although some ships are still moving, the U.S. has not lifted its blockade on Iranian vessels and ports. As a result, any ship approaching the strait will be considered as cooperating with hostile forces.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Iran, saying that closing the Strait of Hormuz will not pressure the United States. He added that the naval blockade will continue until all agreements with Iran are fully completed.
Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that, in the context of the Lebanon ceasefire and as part of a pre-planned arrangement, the Strait of Hormuz remains fully open for all commercial vessels.
At the same time, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said that no new negotiations with the United States will begin until both sides reach agreement on a unified framework.
Additionally, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has confirmed that it is reviewing the proposals put forward by the United States.
