Lebanon’s resistance group Hezbollah has carried out a series of attacks on Israeli military bases, according to the group. Hezbollah said it launched new strikes targeting several Israeli military facilities and northern cities.
According to a report by Al Jazeera on Sunday (March 8), Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attacks in separate statements.
In one statement, the group said it launched a rocket attack on the Misgav military base in northern Israel, which it described as a military logistics center. Hezbollah said the attack was carried out in response to Israeli strikes on various cities and towns in Lebanon.
In another statement, Hezbollah said its fighters fired advanced missiles targeting the Haifa naval base. The group had also claimed responsibility for an attack on the same naval base a day earlier.
Earlier, Hezbollah also said it launched two drone attacks targeting the northern Israeli city of Nahariya, adding that the strikes were part of a previously issued warning to the city.
Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said two Israeli soldiers were killed during clashes in southern Lebanon. It is the first reported Israeli military casualties since renewed fighting between Israel and Hezbollah began last week.
However, no further details about the identities of the soldiers were immediately released.
