China eases visa process for Bangladeshis attending 140th Canton Fair

The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has announced a simplified visa process for Bangladeshi businesspeople and visitors planning to attend the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) in Guangzhou.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, the embassy said the on-site exhibition will be held in three phases from 15 October to 4 November 2026.

Under the new arrangement, Bangladeshi applicants seeking a Canton Fair visa will only be required to submit the official invitation letter issued by the organisers as the mandatory document for their visa application.

To facilitate processing, applicants may also voluntarily upload supporting documents with their online application, including previous Chinese visas, travel records and company guarantee letters.

The embassy warned that applications containing incomplete or incorrect information would not be accepted and could be returned for correction. Applicants were advised to complete the online visa application form accurately to avoid delays or disruptions to their travel plans.

It also cautioned that submitting forged or altered invitation letters, false information or fake documents could lead to visa rejection and adversely affect future visa applications.

The embassy stressed that no individual or organisation has been authorised to provide visa services on its behalf. It added that visa type, validity, duration of stay and number of entries will be determined in accordance with relevant regulations and each applicant’s circumstances.

Applicants were also urged to beware of fraudulent claims such as “guaranteed visas”, “no visa, no fee”, “inside contacts” or “special channels”, saying such offers are scams.

The Chinese Embassy encouraged applicants to complete their own visa application forms and contact the embassy or the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Dhaka for official assistance if needed.
