New York Lions Club Hosts ‘Back to School Giveaway’ for Students

The New York Cyber Business and Industry Lions Club, District 20-R2, organized a “Back to School Giveaway” program in Jackson Heights to support students as they prepare for the new academic year. The initiative was organized by the club with support from Golden Age Home Care.

The event was held Friday, August 28, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Golden Age Home Care, located at 71-24 35th Avenue in Jackson Heights. Students and parents, along with Lions Club members and community representatives, attended the program.

Organizers said the initiative was aimed not only at providing essential school supplies but also at encouraging students at the start of the new school year, building their confidence and strengthening their interest in education. They said providing children with the supplies they need is a way to support their educational journey and future aspirations.

The program was led by Lion Shah Newaz, founder of the New York Cyber Business and Industry Lions Club and First Vice District Governor of Lions District 20-R2. Club President Lion Ahsan Habib and General Secretary Lion Nishan Rahim played key roles in organizing the event. Lion Md. Badruddoza Sagor and Lion Anik Raj coordinated the program.

Among those attending were PDG Guillermo Ali Perez, District GST Coordinator; PDG Medadi C, District GMT Coordinator; PDG Amado C; former president of the New York Bangladeshi-American Lions Club Lion Mohammad Sayed; former general secretary Hasan Jilani; Lion M.S. Alam; organizing secretaries Lion Anik Raj and Lion Abubakar Siddique; directors Lion Belal Ahmed, Lion Shah J. Chowdhury and Dr. Nargis Rahman; and Lion Nurul Azim.
