U.S. President Donald Trump has spoken to Fox News about the outcome of the midterm elections, addressing reports about plans for potential strikes on parts of Iran.

“We have to do something big,” Trump said, suggesting that this could include a “major strike.” He also reiterated that Iran would never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

During the interview, Trump acknowledged that high fuel prices had contributed to the Republicans’ poor performance in the midterm elections. He said people were “not happy” about having to pay more for fuel.

Although Republicans appeared set to lose control of both chambers of Congress, Trump said he did not view the outcome as a “blow” to his presidency. He said Democrats had been trying for years to achieve such a major victory and had finally succeeded. He also praised the party for its performance.

In the Fox News interview, Trump also highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past two years, citing the economy and security along the U.S. southern border as its major accomplishments.
