After 21 hours of continuous negotiations, delegations from the United States and Iran failed to reach any agreement. The talks, held in Islamabad, concluded amid ongoing uncertainty.

Speaking after the meeting, US Vice President JD Vance said that although several key issues were discussed in depth, no final deal could be achieved.

According to Pakistani media outlet Dawn, the discussions—referred to as the “Islamabad Talks”—began on Saturday afternoon and continued until Sunday.

At a press conference, Vance noted that while there had been some progress, the positions of the two sides remain far apart on core issues. He added that the United States clearly outlined its red lines—what it can and cannot compromise on—but Iran’s delegation did not accept those conditions.

Analysts believe that despite the lack of an agreement, the continuation of diplomatic engagement signals potential for future progress. It remains to be seen whether the next round of talks will open a path toward resolution.
