New Committee of Barlekha Welfare Association of Michigan Takes Oath

The newly elected members of the 2026–2028 executive committee of the Barlekha Welfare Association of Michigan took their oath of office at a festive gathering in Michigan, United States.

The event was held on Sunday, August 30, at a restaurant in Warren, Michigan, in a lively and celebratory atmosphere.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Foysal Ahmed. This was followed by the national anthems of the United States and Bangladesh, performed with due respect.

The welcome address was delivered by outgoing president Mujibur Rahman. The oath-taking ceremony then began. Advisory Council member Abdul Halim administered the oath to newly elected president Mahbub Ahmed Chowdhury Alal.

After taking the oath, the newly elected president expressed his gratitude to everyone present. He said that one of the new committee’s key commitments would be to work for the welfare of the people of Barlekha by carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to the organization with honesty, dedication and unity.

The other members of the newly elected 2026–2028 committee subsequently took their oaths of office.

Senior members of the organization and leaders of the newly elected committee delivered congratulatory speeches at the event. Speakers said that a change in leadership is not merely a transfer of responsibilities; rather, it provides a new opportunity to make the organization stronger, more dynamic and more united.

Leaders and members of the organization, along with representatives of various political, social and cultural organizations in Michigan, attended the event.
