Iran has alarmed countries across the Middle East close to the United States, and the situation is becoming increasingly complex. In response, the Arab League has called an emergency meeting to make urgent decisions.
The league’s foreign ministers will hold the meeting tomorrow, Sunday, March 8, according to the organization’s Assistant Secretary-General Hossam Zaki.
News agency AFP reports that the meeting will take place via video conference. Zaki stated that Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, and Egypt have called for this urgent gathering.
Meanwhile, Israel has accused Iran of committing war crimes. On Friday, IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani made the allegations during a briefing.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Iran has used cluster bombs in its attacks, targeting both military and civilian areas. This constitutes a war crime, as the use of cluster bombs in civilian areas is prohibited. “We are closely tracking the entire situation,” Shoshani added.
