Bahrain has issued a nationwide security alert following reported Iranian military strikes in the Gulf region, urging citizens and residents to remain calm and move immediately to the nearest safe shelter.

In a statement released on Thursday, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said warning sirens had been activated across the country and instructed the public to follow official guidance and remain vigilant amid the evolving security situation.

The alert came after Iran claimed it had launched a new round of military operations in response to recent U.S. strikes.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had carried out drone and missile attacks targeting several U.S. military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.

According to a statement broadcast by Iran’s state media, IRIB, the operation was conducted jointly by the IRGC’s Aerospace Force and Navy. The statement identified Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as Shaikh Isa Air Base and U.S. military facilities in the Juffair area of Bahrain, as the intended targets.

Juffair hosts the U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, one of Washington’s key military commands in the Gulf.

The IRGC said the operation was retaliation for what it described as recent U.S. attacks on locations along Iran’s southern coastline and two bridges in the country’s eastern region.

The claims have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation from U.S., Bahraini, or Kuwaiti authorities regarding the reported attacks or any resulting damage.
