Global Leaders React to Shooting Incident at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

World leaders have expressed shock and condemnation following a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night (April 25), according to BBC News.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said he was relieved that U.S. President Donald Trump, the First Lady, and all attendees were safe. He also extended his sympathy to those who experienced fear during the incident, calling it deeply disturbing.

French President Emmanuel Macron described the armed attack as unacceptable. In a statement shared on social media, he emphasized that violence has no place in a democracy and expressed full support for President Trump.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he was shocked by the incident. He strongly condemned any attack on democratic institutions or press freedom, adding that it was a relief to know the President, First Lady, and others present were unharmed.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also expressed relief that everyone remained safe. He praised the response of the Secret Service and law enforcement agencies.

European Union’s top diplomat Kaja Kallas reaffirmed support for the U.S. leadership and all attendees, stressing that political violence has no place in democratic societies.

Venezuela’s acting President Delcy Rodríguez strongly condemned the attack and wished safety and well-being for those present at the event.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was deeply shocked by the incident at the correspondents’ dinner and offered prayers and best wishes for President Trump.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished safety and good health for President Trump, the First Lady, and the Vice President.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that violence can never be a solution and reaffirmed the importance of peace and democratic values.

The incident has drawn widespread international concern, with leaders united in condemning political violence and expressing relief that no casualties were reported.
