A major reshuffle has taken place at the top level of the Pentagon, the United States Department of Defense. As part of this move, US Army Chief General Randy George has been removed from his position.
The decision was made on Thursday by US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, according to multiple sources within the Department of Defense.
However, the Pentagon has officially described the move as a “retirement.” In a statement, it said that General Randy George, the 41st Chief of Staff of the US Army, is stepping down with immediate effect.
Although more than a year remained in his term, the decision has raised questions in various quarters.
The Pentagon praised General George’s long military career and wished him well in his retirement.
However, no specific reason has yet been disclosed for his sudden departure.
