Six Bangladeshi Peacekeepers Killed in Terrorist Attack in Sudan as Fighting Continues: ISPR

Six members of the Bangladesh Army serving as United Nations peacekeepers in Sudan have been killed. The incident occurred on Saturday (13 December) when terrorists attacked a UN base in Abyei, Sudan. Eight other peacekeepers were injured in the attack.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the incident in a post on its official Facebook page.

According to the post, terrorists attacked a United Nations camp in Abyei on Saturday (13 December 2025), resulting in the deaths of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and injuries to eight others. The post also stated that fighting is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, news agency AFP, citing hospital sources, reported that a United Nations building was attacked in Sudan’s Kordofan region. Six people were reportedly killed in that attack.

In another Facebook post, the Bangladesh Army stated that a total of 14 Bangladeshi peacekeepers were casualties of a surprise terrorist attack on a UN peacekeeping mission base in the Abyei area of Sudan. Among them, six peacekeepers were killed and eight were injured, according to the latest information.

It has been reported that the situation in the area remains unstable and clashes with terrorists are continuing.

The authorities are making all-out efforts to provide necessary medical treatment and conduct rescue operations for the injured peacekeepers. Further details will be shared in due course as more information becomes available.
