It is worth mentioning that there are around 15 million expatriate remittance earners worldwide. However, they often face harassment and difficulties at airports, immigration, customs, land offices, and airlines. Their families and properties in Bangladesh remain vulnerable due to the lack of effective legal protection.
In this context, a demand has been raised to establish a “Probashi Tribunal” to ensure the quick resolution of legal cases for expatriates. Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB), New York chapter, has been actively working to create public awareness, highlight the importance of such a tribunal, implement expatriate protection laws, and safeguard the rights and legitimate demands of expatriates.
