Iran has strongly responded to recent warnings from U.S. President Donald Trump, saying it will no longer accept the repeated cycle of war, negotiations, and ceasefire.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the same cycle cannot continue repeatedly.

The report was published on Thursday (April 2) by Al Jazeera.

In a speech to the nation, Trump urged Iran to reach a deal within two to three weeks. He also warned that otherwise, Iranian power plants could be targeted in potential strikes.

In response, Baghaei said the ongoing conflict is not only dangerous for Iran but could have disastrous consequences for the entire region and beyond. He warned that if the United States and Israel launch attacks, Iran will respond with strong resistance.

He added that Iran does not consider its Gulf neighbors as enemies and remains committed to maintaining good relations with them. However, he accused the United States and Israel of using the territories of these countries to carry out military operations against Iran.

Baghaei described the conflict as an “unjust war” imposed on the Iranian people and said there is no option but to resist firmly.

Earlier, Trump addressed the nation from the White House at 9 p.m. local time. At the beginning of his speech, he congratulated those involved in the successful launch of NASA’s Artemis II mission and praised the bravery of the astronauts.

He then spoke about the ongoing conflict with Iran, which has continued for nearly a month. Trump claimed that Iran’s naval and air forces have suffered significant damage, and several top leaders have been killed. He also said Iran’s missile and drone capabilities have been considerably reduced.

According to a BBC report published on Thursday (April 2), Trump also praised U.S. allies for their role in the conflict. He described the contributions of Israel and Gulf countries as “remarkable” and said the United States would not allow them to fail.

Trump added that Iran has carried out attacks on multiple countries, which, he argued, proves that it should never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

During the speech, he also thanked U.S. forces for quickly detaining Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, claiming the move received positive reactions worldwide. He added that relations between the United States and Venezuela are now improving.
