Despite multiple rounds of talks and mediation efforts, a peace agreement between Iran and the United States remains uncertain. Iran has stated that no memorandum of understanding has been finalized, while U.S. President Donald Trump has not approved the draft proposal discussed during recent negotiations.
Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that both sides were very close to reaching a peace agreement. Officials at the White House have also expressed optimism about the prospects of a deal.
However, the latest round of discussions, held in the presence of President Trump, ended without a final decision. After nearly two hours of talks, the U.S. president declined to endorse the proposed draft agreement.
Iran has also maintained that it will not accept any deal unless its key demands are met. The two sides remain divided over issues including the release of frozen Iranian assets, Tehran’s nuclear program, and the transfer of enriched uranium.
As a result, uncertainty continues over whether a peace agreement can be reached in the near future. With tensions persisting at regular intervals, concerns about stability in the Middle East also remain unresolved.
