Germany has maintained visa-free short-stay entry for citizens of 62 non-European Union (EU) and non-Schengen countries in 2026, allowing eligible travelers to visit the country without a visa for up to 90 days.

According to the latest information published by the German Federal Foreign Office, eligible nationals may enter Germany for tourism, business meetings, or private visits and stay for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period.

Bangladesh is not included on the list. As a result, Bangladeshi citizens must continue to obtain the appropriate visa before travelling to Germany.

German authorities said the visa waiver applies only to short-term visits and does not permit employment, paid work, long-term residence, or study requiring a residence permit.

The visa-free list includes countries and territories such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Israel, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Argentina, Malaysia, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Serbia, Ukraine, Taiwan, Vatican City, Uruguay, and other eligible partners.

Travelers planning to work, pursue higher education, or remain in Germany beyond the permitted period must obtain the appropriate visa and residence authorization before entering the country.
