Several people were injured in an explosion at a factory in Ras Laffan Industrial City in northern Qatar, the country’s Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
According to the ministry, the explosion was caused by a technical malfunction during normal operations at the facility. Authorities said there was no gas leak or release of hazardous substances and that the incident posed no threat to public safety.
The ministry did not identify the factory where the explosion occurred. It also did not disclose the number of people injured or provide details about their conditions.
Earlier, the Interior Ministry had issued a brief statement confirming that an explosion had taken place in the Ras Laffan area due to a technical fault.
