Bangladesh Law Society USA Inc. Elects Wahid as President, Kamal as General Secretary

The Bangladesh Law Society USA Inc. has successfully completed its 2026–2027 Executive Committee election in New York, marked by a festive atmosphere and keen competition. The election took place on Sunday at Mamas Party Hall in Bangladesh Plaza, Jackson Heights.

In the closely contested election, Advocate Abdul Wahid was elected President, while Advocate Kamal Uddin secured the position of General Secretary.

According to election sources, Advocate Abdul Wahid received 160 votes in the presidential race, while Advocate Kamal Uddin garnered 100 votes for the general secretary post. A total of approximately 275 votes were cast through a combination of online and in-person voting.

Candidates and voters began arriving at the polling center around 11:00 a.m., and the day-long voting process witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the organization. The strong turnout contributed to a highly competitive and vibrant election, during which members directly elected the president, general secretary, and other executive committee members.

In their immediate reactions, the newly elected President and General Secretary expressed heartfelt gratitude to the members for their trust and confidence. They also extended sincere thanks to the Election Commission for conducting a transparent, orderly, and successful election, and pledged to serve the Bangladesh Law Society USA Inc. with dedication and integrity.

The election was overseen by Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Syed Moin Uddin Junel, with Advocate Mohammad Abul Bashar and Advocate Md. Samiul Karim Alamgir serving as Election Commissioners.
