One person was arrested after a clash broke out between two rival factions of the Awami League in the Jackson Heights neighborhood of Queens, New York, police said.
According to witnesses, a verbal altercation between members of the two groups escalated into a physical confrontation, drawing the attention of bystanders as tensions quickly intensified.
Police responded to the scene and brought the situation under control. One individual was taken into custody, while another person who was injured during the incident was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The victim is reported to be receiving medical care.
