South Asian Unity Parade Organizers Host Gala Night

The organizers of the South Asian Unity Parade hosted a gala night on August 9 with members of the organizing committee and prominent community leaders to thank participants and supporters of the parade.

The organizers expressed their appreciation to everyone who took part in the parade and called for continued community participation in similar initiatives to strengthen unity among South Asian communities.

Speaking at the event, Parade Grand Marshal Shahnewaz acknowledged that the organizers had faced challenges while bringing together people from eight different countries for the first time. He said there could be mistakes and criticism in any initiative, but the organizers would learn from their experiences and work to make future events better.

“Criticism is easy, but doing the work is difficult,” Shahnewaz said, adding that the organizers would continue their efforts regardless of criticism.

Rano Newaz said the organizers viewed criticism as a source of inspiration and would continue working together for the community.

“Ten people working together can accomplish the task. Whether we win or lose, there is no shame,” he said, pledging continued support for community programs.

Parade Convener Shah Shahidul Haque thanked those who attended the event and said the gathering helped strengthen relationships within the community.

“Those who came are friends, and through this event we also got to know those who could not attend,” he said.

The event was attended by BNP Central Committee member Abdul Latif Samrat, political analyst Dilip Nath, Lion Matiur Rahman, Nurul Azim, Dr. Sabita Rani, Joy, Tariqul Islam Badal, Lion Ahsan Habib and journalist Akbar Haider Kiran, among others.

The gala night highlighted the organizers’ commitment to maintaining cooperation and unity among South Asian communities and building on the experience of the inaugural South Asian Unity Parade.
