Ukrainian Missile Strike Targets Russian Oil Refinery

Ukraine has launched a missile strike targeting a Russian oil refinery using British-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles. The Ukrainian military has confirmed the attack, Reuters reported.

In a statement on Thursday (December 25), the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces said the strike was carried out against the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery located in Russia’s southern Rostov region. Multiple explosions were reported in and around the refinery during the attack.

The statement added that Ukraine’s air force successfully struck the designated target using air-launched Storm Shadow missiles. Ukraine has previously reported using the same type of missile against various military and strategic facilities inside Russia.

According to Kyiv, the Novoshakhtinsk refinery is a key energy facility in southern Russia, supplying diesel fuel and aviation fuel for the Russian military.
