Reuters has won two Pulitzer Prizes in the 2026 awards, as several major U.S. and international news organizations, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, were recognized for excellence in journalism.

The Pulitzer Prize Board announced this year’s winners on Monday, honoring reporting across investigative journalism, public service, feature writing, photography, and audio storytelling. The awards are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious recognitions in global journalism.

Reuters received the National Reporting Pulitzer for coverage of political retaliation linked to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s actions, as well as a second award in the Beat Reporting category. The second recognition highlighted investigative work into social media company Meta’s role in exposing children and users to harmful AI chatbots and misleading advertisements.

The New York Times secured three awards across different categories, including investigative reporting, opinion writing, and breaking news photography. The Washington Post won in the public service category for its reporting on federal workforce cuts and restructuring during the Trump administration and related policy changes.

Other winners included the Associated Press, Minnesota Star Tribune, Chicago Tribune, ProPublica, Bloomberg, and several regional outlets recognized for investigative and analytical journalism.

The Pulitzer Prize, administered by Columbia University, has been awarded annually since 1917 and honors excellence in journalism, literature, drama, and music.
